Alright, let’s talk about this John’s seafood place, you know, the one with the fish and stuff. I heard they got a menu, a real fancy one, like them city folk use. So, let’s see what kinda grub they got.
First off, they got somethin’ called “Starters”. Sounds like the stuff you eat before the real eatin’ starts. They got “Oysters on the Half Shell”. Now, I ain’t never had no oysters, but I hear they’re kinda slimy and salty. If you’re into that, go for it. Then there’s “Clam Chowder”. That’s soup, right? Made with clams, I guess. My old man used to make clam chowder, but his was always gritty, like he forgot to wash the clams. Hope this John fella does a better job.
They also got somethin’ called “Calamari”. Don’t rightly know what that is, but it sounds foreign. Probably some kinda fancy fish. And then there’s “Shrimp Cocktail”. Shrimp I know. Little pink fellas, dipped in some kinda red sauce. Pretty tasty, if you ask me. They say it’s “perfect for sharing”, which is good, cause sometimes them shrimp are real tiny.
Next up is the “Main Courses”. This is the big stuff, the stuff that fills your belly. They got “Grilled Salmon”. Salmon is good, healthy-like. But make sure they don’t overcook it, cause then it gets all dry and tasteless. And they got “Lobster Thermidor”. Now, that sounds real fancy. Lobster is like a big ol’ crawdad, right? And thermidor… I dunno, some kinda fancy sauce, I reckon. Probably costs a pretty penny, too.
- Fish and Chips: Now this is somethin’ I understand! Fried fish and fried potatoes. Can’t go wrong with that, unless they burn it.
- Pan-Seared Scallops: Scallops? Them’s little round things, kinda sweet. If they’re cooked right, they’re mighty good.
- Whole Roasted Branzino: Bran-what-now? Sounds like a whole fish, head and all. Not sure if I’m brave enough for that.
They also have a “Sides” section. You know, the stuff that comes with the main course. They got “French Fries”, “Mashed Potatoes”, and “Asparagus”. Fries are always good, and mashed potatoes are comfort food, you know? Asparagus… well, that’s kinda fancy, but I’ll eat it if it’s on my plate. They also got “Garlic Bread”. That’s the stuff! Buttery and garlicky. Makes your breath stink, but who cares?
And last but not least, “Desserts”. Always gotta have somethin’ sweet after all that fish. They got “Key Lime Pie”. That’s tart and sweet, real refreshin’. And “Chocolate Lava Cake”. Ooh, that sounds rich. Warm chocolate oozing out… my mouth’s waterin’ just thinkin’ about it. And then there’s “New York Cheesecake”, simple but good. My grand daughter loves that stuff, maybe I’ll get some for her.
Now, they got somethin’ called “Chef’s Specials”, too. These are the things the cook is proud of, I guess. They got “Seafood Paella”. That’s like a rice dish, with all kinda seafood mixed in. Looks pretty fancy, but I bet it’s tasty. And they got somethin’ called “Swordfish Steak”. Swordfish? That’s a big fish, with a long nose like a sword. Probably pretty meaty. They say it’s “today’s fresh catch,” so that’s good, right?
I ain’t sure how much all this costs, but I reckon it ain’t cheap. Seafood always costs a lot, especially the fancy stuff. But hey, sometimes you gotta treat yourself, right? So, if you’re lookin’ for some good seafood, and you ain’t afraid to spend a little money, John’s place might be worth a try. Just don’t go expectin’ no cheap eats. And make sure to bring your eatin’ pants, cause they give you plenty of food, or at least I hope they do. And if they don’t, well, you can always complain to the manager, right? That’s what I always say.
Anyways, that’s John’s seafood menu, as best as I can tell. Hope it helps you decide what to eat. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m gonna go find myself some fish and chips. All this talk about seafood has made me hungry.
