Well, howdy there! Let me tell ya ’bout this here… uh… cookie thing. They call it the “Blue Valley Rec Cookie Decoratin’ Class.” Sounds fancy, don’t it? But it ain’t nothin’ too complicated, I reckon.
So, this here class, right? It’s for learnin’ ya how to make them cookies look pretty. You know, the kind you see in the stores, all them fancy swirls and whatnot? Yeah, them. They gonna teach ya how to do that. It’s all ’bout makin’ cookies look too good to eat, but I bet ya gonna eat ’em anyway, ha!
First off, they say some local cookie lady, Ashlee from Geno’s Bakes, is gonna be the teacher. She knows her stuff, they say. She gonna show ya how to use that “royal icin’.” Sounds mighty important, that icin’. It’s what ya use to draw on the cookies, make ’em all purdy and such.
- They gonna learn ya how to “outline” and “flood” the cookies. Sounds like a mess if ya ask me, but I guess that’s how they do it. Outlinin’ is like drawin’ the lines, and floodin’ is fillin’ it all in.
- They say you get to decorate a few cookies, maybe four or six, depends on who’s tellin’ the story. Some say three, some say six. Anyways, you get to take ’em home with ya.
- And get this, they give ya all the stuff ya need. No need to go runnin’ around tryin’ to find fancy tools and such. They got it all covered. That’s good, ’cause I ain’t got time for all that shoppin’.
I got chickens to feed and gardens to tend to, ya know.
Now, this ain’t just for the young’uns, mind you. They say it’s for grown-ups too. Anyone over 18 can join in the fun. So, if you’re lookin’ for somethin’ to do with your friends, this might be just the ticket. Grab a friend, they say, and come on down. It’s always more fun with a buddy, I say.
They got these workshops, see? For kids, families, everyone. It’s a hands-on thing, so you ain’t just sittin’ there watchin’. You get to actually do the decoratin’ yourself. That’s the best way to learn, in my opinion. Get your hands dirty, that’s what I always say. Well, not dirty with dirt, but with icin’, ya know?
They teachin’ ya all sorts of tricks, I hear. Learn them icin’ techniques and creative designs. That’s what they say on the internet. My grandson showed me. Them designs, they can be anythin’ ya want, I guess. Flowers, swirls, maybe even little animals. The sky’s the limit, they say. I don’t know much about the sky, but I do know a good cookie when I see one!
And it don’t cost an arm and a leg neither. Seems like it’s around 55 dollars or somethin’ like that. For a couple of hours of fun and some cookies to take home, that ain’t too bad. Better than sittin’ around watchin’ the grass grow, that’s for sure.
So, there ya have it. The Blue Valley Rec Cookie Decoratin’ Class. A place to learn how to make cookies look pretty, have some fun, and maybe even make a friend or two. Sounds like a good time to me. Learn the basics of making fun, decorated cookies, that’s what it’s all about.
If you ain’t got nothin’ better to do, and you like cookies, well then, I reckon you should give it a try. Who knows, you might just be the next cookie decoratin’ champion. Or at least you’ll have some pretty cookies to show for it.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go check on them chickens. Them birds are always gettin’ into somethin’. And maybe, just maybe, I’ll bake myself a batch of cookies. Plain ones, though. I ain’t got time for all that fancy decoratin’. But you young folks, you go ahead and have your fun. Enjoy them cookies!
And don’t forget to sign up, they said somethin’ about that, sign up on November 29, between 6:30 and 8:30. Write that down so you don’t forget now.
