Alright, let’s talk about eggs for breakfast, you know, like that Bridgette B. likes ’em. I ain’t no fancy cook or nothin’, but I can sure crack an egg and make somethin’ edible. My old man, he used to say, “Give me eggs and I’m a happy fella.” So, I learned a thing or two about makin’ eggs over the years.
First off, you gotta have good eggs. Don’t go buyin’ them fancy, overpriced ones. Just get the regular ones from the store. Them brown ones or white ones, don’t matter much. Now, some folks like ’em runny, some like ’em hard. Me? I like ’em somewhere in the middle, you know? Not too runny, not too dry. Gotta have a little bit of that yolk still gooey, but not drippin’ all over the place.
So, how do I make ’em? Well, there’s a bunch of ways, I tell ya. Sometimes, I just fry ’em up in a pan. Get a little butter, melt it down, crack them eggs right in. Fry ’em up nice and easy. Sometimes, I add a little salt and pepper, maybe some chopped onions if I got ’em. Nothin’ fancy, just good, plain eggs.
But sometimes, you wanna spice things up a bit, right? Like that Bridgette B., she likes eggs with all sorts of stuff. Bananas, bread, you name it. I ain’t never tried eggs with bananas, sounds a bit odd to me, but hey, to each their own, I always say.
- One thing I do like is eggs with toast. Good old white bread, toasted up nice and crispy. Dip that toast right into the yolk, oh yeah, that’s good eatin’.
- And sometimes, I make scrambled eggs. Whisk them eggs up in a bowl, add a little milk, maybe some cheese if I’m feelin’ fancy. Pour it in the pan and scramble them up. Easy peasy. My grandkids, they love scrambled eggs. I always make a big batch when they come over.
Now, some folks, they make these breakfast burritos. I tried one once, at that new place down the road. Had all sorts of stuff in it. Eggs, potatoes, beans, meat… I don’t know, it was alright, but it was too much fuss for me. I like to keep things simple.
I heard tell of folks bakin’ eggs in the oven too. In a casserole or somethin’. Sounds like a lot of work to me. I ain’t got time for all that. I gotta get out to the garden, tend to my chickens, and do all sorts of other chores. So, I stick to my fried eggs or my scrambled eggs. They’re quick, they’re easy, and they fill ya up.
And you know what else is good? Eggs with oats. Now, that might sound a little strange too, but trust me on this one. Cook up some oats, just plain oats, and then crack an egg right in there. Cook it up for a couple minutes, until that egg is just the way you like it. It’s a good, hearty breakfast. Keeps ya goin’ all mornin’ long.
So, whether you like ’em fried, scrambled, baked, or with oats, eggs are a good thing to have for breakfast. They’re good for ya, too. Got all that protein and vitamins and whatnot. And they don’t cost an arm and a leg, neither. Just a good, honest breakfast for a good, honest day’s work. That’s what I say. Just like Bridgette B. and her eggs, everyone’s got their own way, ain’t they? You just gotta find what works for ya.
Don’t get me wrong, I’ve seen them fancy recipes, 15 minutes or less they say. But what’s the rush? I like to take my time, enjoy my breakfast, you know? It’s the most important meal of the day, or so they say. And sometimes, if I’m feelin’ real adventurous, I might try somethin’ new. But mostly, I stick to what I know. Good old-fashioned eggs. Can’t go wrong with that.
So, next time you’re wonderin’ what to make for breakfast, remember what I said. Just grab some eggs and get cookin’. You don’t need no fancy recipes or special ingredients. Just good, plain eggs and a little bit of know-how. And that’s all there is to it. You’ll be full and ready for whatever the day throws at ya.
