Well, lemme tell ya, I got this hankering for somethin’ sweet the other day. And not just any sweet, but that there Chips Ahoy s’mores cookie recipe. You know, that one with the gooey marshmallows and the chocolate, all mixed up in a cookie? Yeah, that’s the one.
So, I says to myself, “Self,” I says, “you gotta make these cookies.” Ain’t nothin’ better than a warm cookie, ‘cept maybe a warm cookie with all that s’mores goodness in it. They say it is from some place called Toll House. I don’t know, I just want to eat that.
First thing’s first, you gotta get your stuff together. Now, I ain’t one for fancy words, so I’ll just tell ya what I used. You need some of that flour, the white stuff. And sugar, ‘course. Can’t have a cookie without sugar. Oh, and some chocolate chips. A lot of it, make it more tasty. You need butter, eggs too I guess. And those little marshmallows, the tiny ones. Get some graham crackers too. Those are important for the s’mores part. Some Chips Ahoy, it is the main character of the recipe.
- Flour, the regular kind
- Sugar, lots of it
- Chocolate chips, the more the merrier
- Butter, gotta have that
- Eggs, just a couple
- Them little marshmallows
- Graham crackers, for the crunch
- Chips Ahoy!
Now, I seen folks use that fancy corn syrup stuff in their cookies. I heard it makes ’em chewy. They say it may be the secret ingredient in Chips Ahoy. That’s probably why they’re so good. So, you want to make it better? Get that corn syrup. You need to get that oven hot, too. ‘Bout 350 degrees, I reckon. While that’s heatin’ up, you can start mixin’ your stuff.
This is what you do, I put all that flour, sugar, and all the other dry stuff in a big bowl. Mix it all up real good. Then, I put the butter and eggs into another bowl and mix that up too. That is a lot of work for me. After that, you gotta mix the wet stuff with the dry stuff. Just dump it all in there and stir it up ’til it looks like cookie dough. Don’t eat it raw, though. I know it’s tempting.
Next, you need that chocolate and them marshmallows. I just throw ’em in the bowl with the dough. Mix it all up again. Make sure them marshmallows and chocolate chips are all spread out in the dough. You can add some other stuff, but that’s for another time. This is a s’mores cookie recipe, not a “everything but the kitchen sink” cookie recipe.
Now comes the fun part. You can break the Chips Ahoy into small pieces, or you can just put them in there whole. I like to put them in the dough and let them bake up. Some folks like to put the Chips Ahoy on top after the cookies are baked. It’s up to you, I guess. I just like them inside.
Time to bake them cookies! Get yourself a cookie sheet, or whatever you call it. I just use an old pan. Drop little balls of dough on the pan. Leave some space between ’em, ’cause they gonna spread out. I break the graham crackers into small pieces and put those on top of each cookie ball. Then I put a marshmallow on top of each one too. You could probably just mix them in the dough, but I like doing it this way. It looks like a real s’more this way, you know?
Then, I put them in the oven. The oven need to be hot. Don’t forget to preheat it. Pop ’em in the oven and let ’em bake for a while. I don’t know exactly how long, maybe 10-12 minutes? Just keep an eye on ’em. You want ’em to be golden brown, not burnt. That’s how you know they’re done.
When they’re all done, take ’em out and let ’em cool off a bit. They gonna be hot, so be careful. Once they’re cool enough to touch, you can eat ’em. These are the best cookies when they’re still warm and gooey. The chocolate is all melted, and the marshmallows are all soft. It’s like a campfire in your mouth, but without the smoke and bugs.
I tell ya what, these Chips Ahoy s’mores cookies are the best things I ever made. Better than any other cookie you find in the shop. If you got a sweet tooth, you gotta try this recipe. It’s easy to make, even if you ain’t no fancy cook. Even kids can help you make these. Trust me, they’ll love it.
These cookies are so good, you won’t be able to eat just one. I ate a whole bunch of ’em myself. Don’t tell anyone, though. It’s our little secret. Just make sure you got plenty of milk to go with ’em. Milk and cookies, that’s the best combination in the world.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m gonna go eat some more cookies. Don’t judge me. They’re just too good to resist.
