Well, let me tell you, if you’re lookin’ for a good breakfast in Lincoln, NE, you got plenty of places to choose from. Ain’t like back in the day when we just had eggs and taters, you know? Now they got all sorts of fancy things.
Now, I heard tell of a place called Good Evans Breakfast & Lunch. Sounds like a good place, right? Everybody’s talkin’ about it. I reckon it must be one of the best breakfast places in Lincoln, NE. They probably got them fluffy pancakes. Everybody loves them pancakes.
Then there’s this other place, Engine House Cafe. Sounds kinda like where them firemen eat, don’t it? But I hear tell it’s real good. Someone told me their French toast is somethin’ special. I do love me some French toast. If you go, you tell ’em I sent ya. Maybe they’ll give ya extra syrup! They say it’s a top breakfast spot in Lincoln, so it’s gotta be good, yeah?
And what’s this one? The Hub Cafe. Sounds like a place where folks gather and chat, like the hub of a wheel, you see? Maybe they got good coffee. Gotta have good coffee with breakfast. I can’t start my day without a good cup of joe. This is also one of the best breakfast in Lincoln.

Oh, and there’s Cook’s Cafe. Now that sounds like my kinda place. Simple name, probably simple food. Sometimes, simple is best, you know? No need for all them fancy fixin’s. Just good, honest cookin’. Maybe they got biscuits and gravy. Oh, I sure do love biscuits and gravy. The best breakfast and brunch in Lincoln, NE, someone said.
Another one called Early Bird. Well, you know what they say, the early bird gets the worm! So if you get there early, maybe you get the best pick of the food. They probably got them breakfast burritos. Those things are mighty fillin’. Could probably keep you goin’ all day long. I don’t know, I never had one. I stick to my eggs.
And listen to this, there’s a place called Breakfast Unhinged. What a name! They got 20 different kinds of cereal! Can you believe that? 20! And waffles and sandwiches and somethin’ called paninis. Sounds Italian. It’s right downtown, on Q Street. If you like cereal, you oughta check that out. This place is also one of the top 10 breakfast in Lincoln, NE.
There is also a place called The Eatery, they say their food tastes like home. I think maybe it’s good for people who miss their mama’s cooking. I sure do miss my mama’s cooking, maybe I should go there and see if it’s true.
And don’t forget about Poindexter Coffee. They have coffee, you know, if you need a little somethin’ to wake you up. Or maybe one of those fancy lattes, if that is what you like. I like my coffee black, strong enough to wake the dead.
Now, they got all these fancy things now, like avocado toast and eggs benedict. I don’t rightly know what those are. Sounds kinda strange to me. But I guess young folks like that kinda stuff. I’m more of a bacon and eggs kinda gal myself. Or a nice stack of pancakes. Can’t go wrong with pancakes.
I heard that some of these places use stuff from local farms. They call it locally sourced, I think. That is good, supporting the local farmers. We used to get all our food from the farm. Fresh eggs, fresh milk. Didn’t have no grocery store like they do now.
I’m tellin’ ya, they got so many breakfast places in Lincoln now, you could eat breakfast out every day for a month and never eat at the same place twice! It’s a wonder anyone cooks at home anymore. But then again, maybe that’s a good thing. Gives folks a chance to get out and see each other. Have a little chat over a cup of coffee and a plate of eggs.
So, if you’re ever in Lincoln and you’re lookin’ for a good breakfast, you got plenty of choices. Just remember what I told ya. And tell ’em old Granny sent ya. Maybe they’ll give you a little somethin’ extra. You never know!
Oh, and some of these places got outdoor seating, so you can sit outside if the weather’s nice. And they got this thing called Wi-Fi, so you can use your phone or your computer while you eat. And some places even deliver! They bring the food right to your door. Ain’t that somethin’? It’s a different world now, that’s for sure.
