Okay, so I decided to hit up the Seafood Festival in St. Pete this weekend. I’d heard good things, and, well, I love seafood. So, I grabbed my friend Sarah and we headed downtown.

Getting There and First Impressions
First off, finding parking was a bit of a nightmare. We circled around for a good 20 minutes before snagging a spot a few blocks away. Note to self: next time, arrive super early or consider taking an Uber. But once we got to the festival, the smell of grilled seafood instantly made me forget the parking struggle.
It was packed! Lots of people, live music playing, and rows and rows of food vendors. It was a bit overwhelming at first, trying to decide where to even start.
Diving into the Food
We decided to do a lap to scope out all the options. We saw everything – giant shrimp, lobster rolls, fish tacos, oyster shooters, you name it. We finally settled on a few things to share:
- Garlic Butter Shrimp Skewers: These were amazing! The shrimp were huge and juicy, and the garlic butter was perfectly seasoned.
- Conch Fritters: A classic Florida treat. Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, with a nice dipping sauce.
- Fish Tacos: We tried two kinds, one grilled and one fried. Both were good, but the grilled ones were the winner – super fresh and flavorful.
Drinks and Dessert
Of course, we needed something to wash it all down. We grabbed a couple of local craft beers from one of the beer tents. They had a pretty good selection, and it was nice to support local breweries.
For a sweet ending, We tried these fried oreo and share it, it’s good!
Overall Experience
After stuffing ourselves, we walked around a bit more, listened to some music, and just enjoyed the atmosphere. It was definitely a fun day out. The food was generally great, although some things were a bit pricey (but hey, it’s a festival).

It was a fun, tasty, and definitely a memorable experience. I’m already planning my next attack on those shrimp skewers!
