Okay, so last night I was super lazy and didn’t feel like cooking, ya know? I was craving some fried fish, but the thought of making it myself? Nah, too much work. Then I remembered Price Chopper has those fish dinners to go. Score!
First thing I did was hop in the car and drive down to Price Chopper. It’s only like, five minutes away, so that’s a plus. I walked straight to the deli section ’cause that’s where they usually keep the prepared foods. I was on a mission, people.
I spotted the sign: “Fish Dinners to Go.” Awesome! They had a few options, like cod and haddock, I think? I’m not a huge fish connoisseur, so I just went with the classic fried cod. It looked good enough, all golden and crispy-ish sitting under the heat lamp.
The dinner came with two big pieces of cod, some fries, and coleslaw. Not bad for the price, I gotta say. I grabbed a container and paid for it at the deli counter. Super quick and easy.
Got back home, starving! I didn’t even bother plating it. Just ripped off the lid and went to town. The fish was…decent. It wasn’t like, restaurant-quality, but it definitely hit the spot. The fries were your typical freezer fries, kinda soggy but I didn’t really care. The coleslaw was okay, maybe a little too much mayo for my taste.
Here’s the breakdown:
- Fish: Edible. Not amazing, but filled the fried fish craving.
- Fries: Soggy, but whatever. They’re fries.
- Coleslaw: Too much mayo.
- Convenience: 10/10. Super easy and quick.
All in all, would I get it again? Probably. If I’m feeling lazy and don’t want to cook, it’s a solid option. Plus, it’s way cheaper than going to a restaurant. Sometimes you just gotta treat yourself to some easy, greasy comfort food, right?
So yeah, that was my Price Chopper fish dinner adventure. Nothing fancy, but it did the trick. Maybe next time I’ll try the haddock…or maybe I’ll actually cook something. We’ll see!
