Okay, folks, let’s talk about my little adventure trying to find a decent bed and breakfast in Lexington, Kentucky.

So, the wife and I decided we needed a weekend getaway. Lexington seemed cool – horses, bourbon, you know, the Kentucky thing. First thing I did? Fired up my trusty old laptop and started Googling. You wouldn’t believe the number of places that popped up!
I started clicking through, one by one. Some websites looked like they were built back in the 90s, all pixelated pictures and weird fonts. Seriously, it’s 2024, people! Get a decent website!
Then there were the ones that were all fancy and slick, but with prices that made my eyes water. I mean, I’m looking for a cozy B&B, not a five-star resort! I just kept scrolling, and scrolling, and scrolling…
Filtering Through the Options
I started getting smart. I used those filter thingies on the search – you know, price range, amenities, that sort of stuff. Free breakfast was a must, obviously. Who wants to hunt for food first thing in the morning? And free parking, because who wants to pay extra just to park their car?
I narrowed it down to a handful of places that looked promising. I started reading reviews. This is where things got interesting. Some people raved about this one place, saying it was the best B&B ever. Others said the owner was a grumpy old cat and the rooms smelled like mothballs. So, take those with a grain of salt, I guess.
My deep dive
After much hemming and hawing, I bookmarked three or four that looked like the best bets. Called up each one, chatting with the person on the other end to find out more info and detials about the place and also get a feel for the vibe. You can learn a lot from a phone call, you know? Are they friendly? Do they sound like they actually want you to stay there?
Finally,I found one that seemed perfect that meet my requirments – a nice mix of good price, good reviews, and a friendly voice on the phone. Booked it! fingers crossed it’s as good in real life as it is on the internet! Wish me have a nice trip!
