Okay, so the other day I stumbled upon this crazy idea – a “beverage hat.” Basically, a hat with cup holders. I thought, “Man, that’s gotta be the ultimate hands-free drinking solution!” So, I decided to make my own.

First, I grabbed an old baseball cap. It was a bit faded, but hey, that just adds character, right? Then, I needed something to hold the drinks. I found some plastic cup holders at a dollar store, the kind you use in your car. Perfect!
The Messy Part
Next, I had to figure out how to attach these things. I tried glue at first, but that was a total disaster. It just wouldn’t hold, especially once I put a full can in there. It ended up a sticky, goopy mess. Don’t do the glue.
Then, my wife suggested using those little zip ties. You know, the plastic things you use to tidy up cables? Genius! So, I poked some small holes in the hat, around where I wanted the cup holders to go. It was a bit tricky, and I nearly stabbed myself a couple of times, but I managed.
- Step 1: Poke holes (carefully!).
- Step 2: Thread the zip ties through the hat and the cup holder.
- Step 3: Tighten those bad boys up!
I put one cup holder on each side of the hat. And I made sure to get them nice and snug, zip tied them super tight,so they wouldn’t wobble around. I even added a few extra zip ties, just to be sure.
The Grand Test
Finally, it was time for the moment of truth. I grabbed two cans of soda, slid them into the holders, and… it worked! It actually worked! I walked around the house, I did some jumping jacks, I even tried a little dance. Those cans didn’t budge!
Sure, it looks a little ridiculous. Okay, maybe a lot ridiculous. But, it’s surprisingly comfortable, and honestly, it’s pretty awesome to have both hands free while enjoying my drinks. I’m calling it a win!
