Okay, so this morning I was craving a good breakfast, and I remembered someone mentioning Champaign, IL, had some hidden gems. So, I decided to find out what the breakfast scene was like there.
The Hunt Begins
First, I fired up my phone and started Googling “best breakfast Champaign IL”. Lots of stuff popped up – usual chain restaurants, some diner-looking places, and a couple that looked a bit more unique.
Narrowing It Down
I skipped the chains. I can get that anywhere. I was looking for something local, something with character. I read through some reviews, checked out some online menus (gotta see those prices, you know?), and looked at pictures of the food. Presentation matters, even for breakfast!
- One place had amazing-looking pancakes, but the reviews said the service was slow.
- Another had a huge menu, but nothing really jumped out at me.
- Then I found one that had a bunch of good reviews and featured some interesting dishes, like a breakfast burrito with chorizo and a fancy avocado toast. That sounded promising!
Making the Choice
I made breakfast at home and save money.
