Alright, let’s talk about this Harbor Seafood Cajun House place. I ain’t no fancy food critic or nothin’, just tellin’ it like it is, you know?
So, I heard about this place from my neighbor’s kid. He’s always eatin’ out, that boy. Said it’s got some kinda “Cajun” seafood boil. Now, I ain’t never been to no fancy Cajun place, but I do love me some good seafood. So I figured, why not give it a whirl?
First off, findin’ the place wasn’t too hard. It’s on some corner, Guadalupe and Alma School, somethin’ like that. Same plaza as that Walgreens where I get my pills. Easy peasy.
Walked in, and it smelled… well, it smelled like seafood, which is a good thing, I guess. Not all fishy and stinky, you know? More like spices and… well, seafood. They got all sorts of stuff, but I went straight for the boil. That’s what the kid told me to get.
Now, this boil thing, it’s a whole mess of food in a bag. Shrimp, mostly. But there was other stuff in there too. Little potatoes, corn on the cob, some sausage… I think. It was all mixed up in this red sauce. Spicy, but not too spicy, you know? Just enough to make your nose run a little. That’s how you know it’s good, ain’t it?
- The shrimp was cooked just right. Not all rubbery and tough.
- The potatoes were soft and soaked up all that sauce.
- And that corn… oh, that corn was sweet and juicy. Best corn I’ve had in a long time.
They give you bibs and gloves, which is good, ‘cause that boil is messy. Real messy. I got sauce all over my face, my hands, even my shirt. But that’s part of the fun, I reckon.
The folks workin’ there were real nice too. Always smilin’ and askin’ if you need anything. They brought me extra napkins, ‘cause I’m a messy eater, you see. And they kept my water glass full. That’s important when you’re eatin’ spicy food.
Now, I ain’t gonna lie, it ain’t the cheapest place around. But you get a lot of food for your money. That boil, it was enough for two meals, really. I took half of it home and ate it the next day. Still tasted good, even cold.
Some folks say you can make this boil stuff at home, but I don’t know about that. Seems like a lot of work. And you gotta get all them spices just right. I’d rather just go to Harbor Seafood and let them do the cookin’. They know what they’re doin’, that’s for sure.
They also got this takeout thing. You can order online or somethin’. The kid showed me on his phone. I ain’t got one of them fancy phones, but it seems handy if you don’t wanna eat in the restaurant. They even bring it to your house, if you live close enough, I guess.
So, here’s the deal. If you like seafood and you like a little spice, you gotta try Harbor Seafood Cajun House. It ain’t fancy, but it’s good. Real good. And that’s all that matters, right? Good food, good people, and a full belly. Can’t ask for much more than that.
Oh, and one more thing. They got plenty of parking. That’s important, especially on a busy day. Nothin’ worse than drivin’ around lookin’ for a parking spot when you’re hungry.
So go on, give it a try. You might just like it. And if you don’t, well, you can’t say I didn’t warn ya. It’s messy, it’s spicy, and it’s a whole lot of food. But that’s what makes it good, in my book.
And don’t be shy about askin’ for extra napkins. You’re gonna need ‘em.
