Okay, so I’ve been craving some serious comfort food lately, and what’s more comforting than a cheesy, creamy casserole? I decided to tackle a crab meat casserole, something I’ve never made before. Let me tell you, it was an adventure!

Getting Started
First, I gathered all my ingredients. I went with:
- lump crab meat (because I’m not messing with picking crabs myself!)
- some cream cheese (the full-fat kind, obviously)
- mayonnaise (Duke’s, because it’s the best)
- shredded cheddar cheese (a sharp one for extra flavor)
- a little bit of Worcestershire sauce (for that umami kick)
- some Old Bay seasoning (gotta have that classic crab flavor)
- green onions (for a little freshness)
- and some buttery crackers (for the topping, of course)
The Mixing Process
I softened the cream cheese in the microwave – that’s key, otherwise, it’s a pain to mix. Then, I dumped it into a big bowl with the mayo, Worcestershire sauce, and Old Bay. I gave it a good stir until it was all smooth and creamy.
Next, I gently folded in the crab meat. You don’t want to break it up too much, so be careful! Then, I stirred in most of the cheddar cheese, saving some for the top. Finally, I mixed in the chopped green onions.
Baking Time
I poured the whole mixture into a greased baking dish. Then, I sprinkled the remaining cheddar cheese on top. For the crispy topping, I crushed up those buttery crackers and scattered them all over.
Into the oven it went! I baked it at 350 degrees for about 20-25 minutes, until it was all bubbly and golden brown and the crackers were nice and toasted.
The Result
Oh. My. Goodness. The smell alone was amazing. It came out of the oven looking like a cheesy, crabby dream. I let it cool for a few minutes (the hardest part!), then dug in.
It was SO good! Creamy, cheesy, with that perfect crab flavor and a little bit of a kick from the Old Bay. The buttery cracker topping added the perfect crunch. I served it with some extra crackers on the side for scooping. Honestly, I could have eaten the whole thing myself!

This crab meat casserole is definitely going into my regular rotation. It was surprisingly easy to make, and the result was pure comfort food perfection. Next Time maybe I add different ingredient. We will see!
