Okay, let me tell you about this little food adventure I had recently. So, I’ve been on this seafood kick lately, right? Just craving it all the time. And I’m in Round Rock, TX, not exactly the seafood capital of the world, but I was determined to find some good stuff. First I searched the internet for what good restaurants were there, there were lots of recommendations, but most of them were the same, such as “Salt Traders Coastal Cooking”、”La Patrona Seafood” and so on. I feel these restaurants should not be bad.
I started off with a place called Salt Traders Coastal Cooking. I went online and saw some good reviews, figured it was worth a shot. I walked in, and the place was pretty nice, you know, that kind of coastal vibe they were going for. I ordered some oysters to start, they were not bad at all. Then I tried their shrimp, everyone always raves about Gulf shrimp, so I had to see what the fuss was about, these shrimps were huge and juicy, pretty tasty. And the price was not that expensive. So Salt Traders, thumbs up from me.
Next up, I hit La Patrona Seafood. Now, this place was a bit more, how should I say, authentic? Smaller, more of a local joint. Anyway, I went for their seafood soup. Man, it was packed with all sorts of stuff – fish, shrimp, you name it. Really hit the spot, especially since it was a bit chilly that day. I also tried their fried calamari, crispy, not too greasy, just how I like it.
Then I had heard some chatter online about Deckhand Oyster Bar. I had to check it out. I swung by there for lunch. The place had a real lively atmosphere. I got myself a dozen oysters, and they were fresh, tasted like the ocean. I couldn’t resist trying their lobster roll, either. That was a good choice, generous chunks of lobster, not too much mayo, just right. I ended up chatting with some folks at the next table, seems like everyone in Round Rock has an opinion on seafood.
- Tried Salt Traders Coastal Cooking – good oysters and shrimp, nice atmosphere.
- La Patrona Seafood – loved the seafood soup and fried calamari, felt like a local.
- Deckhand Oyster Bar – fresh oysters and a killer lobster roll, lively place.
I also tried a couple of other places, Juicy Claws and Pete’s Cajun Seafood. Juicy Claws had some interesting takes on seafood, a bit more fusion, I guess you could say. And Pete’s, well, if you’re into Cajun, that’s your spot. They had this spicy crawfish boil that was pretty intense, but good.
Also, I found a small restaurant called “Lonestar Crabshack”, their fried fish was crispy and not greasy. It was very delicious, and I chatted with the owner, a very enthusiastic guy.
My Seafood Cravings
So, yeah, that was my seafood adventure in Round Rock. I went in not expecting much, but I came out pleasantly surprised. I mean, we’re not on the coast, but these places are doing a pretty good job bringing some ocean flavor to central Texas. If you’re ever in Round Rock and get a hankering for seafood, you’ve got some solid options. And hey, even if you’re not a seafood fanatic, it’s worth trying these places out. You might just become a convert.
And don’t just take my word for it. Get out there and try these places yourself. Everyone’s got their own taste, right? What I might find amazing, you might just think is okay. But that’s the fun of it, exploring and finding what you like. I just hope I steered you in the right direction, especially if you find yourself in Round Rock with a seafood craving that just won’t quit.
I’m no food critic or anything, I just like to eat and try new things. And when I find something I enjoy, I like to share it with people. Maybe it helps someone out, maybe it doesn’t. But at least I got to talk about all the seafood I ate, and that’s a win in my book.
Alright, that’s enough from me. Go out there, eat some good food, and enjoy life. That’s what it’s all about, right?
