Okay, so yesterday I decided to hit up the Georgetown Seafood Market. I’d heard good things, and I’m always on the lookout for fresh seafood.

First things first, I drove over there. It wasn’t too hard to find, plenty of parking, which is always a plus. When I walked in, I was immediately hit with that fresh, salty-air smell. You know, the kind that tells you the seafood hasn’t been sitting around for days.
Checking Out the Goods
They had everything laid out real nice. Big tanks with live lobsters and crabs, and then rows of iced-down fish, shrimp, scallops… you name it. I spent a good 15 minutes just browsing, taking it all in.
- Lobsters: Looked super lively, claws banded, of course.
- Fish: Bright eyes, firm flesh – all the signs of freshness.
- Shrimp: Good color, no funky smell.
- Scallops: Nice and plump.
I talked to one of the guys behind the counter. He was super helpful, answering all my questions about where the fish came from and what was in season. He even gave me some cooking tips, which was cool. It’s good to deal with an interactive fishmonger, which makes me feel comfortable.
Making My Choices (and the Damage!)
I ended up grabbing a pound of salmon, some shrimp, and a couple of those live lobsters. Couldn’t resist! The prices were a little higher than the supermarket, but you could tell the quality was way better. Totally worth it, in my opinion.
The Wrap-Up
I cooked up the salmon last night – simple pan-sear with some lemon and herbs. It was incredible! So fresh and flavorful. Can’t wait to try the shrimp and lobsters later this week. All in all, I’m giving the Georgetown Seafood Market a big thumbs up. If you’re looking for quality seafood, definitely check it out!
