Okay, so I’ve been on this whole chicken strip kick lately. I mean, who doesn’t love some good, crispy chicken? But I got to thinking, what can I whip up to go with them? You know, something to make it a complete meal and not just a snack-fest.
First, I did some digging on what exactly chicken strips are. Turns out, there’s a bit of confusion between tenders, strips, and fingers. From what I gathered, tenders are a specific cut from the breast, while strips are just any solid piece of breast meat. And fingers? Well, those seem to be more like processed nuggets. Who knew?
Then, I wanted to see if they’re actually any good for you. And guess what? It seems like chicken tenders are actually a bit healthier than other chicken parts because they tend to have fewer calories and fat. Good news for me!
Now, the fun part: the side dishes. I was getting tired of the usual fries, so I wanted to change things up. One idea that popped up was oven-baked potato wedges. I figured that would be a nice change, and I could season them however I wanted. I grabbed some potatoes, cut them into wedges. Tossed them with some olive oil, salt, pepper, and a bit of paprika. Popped those in the oven until they were all golden and crispy.

- Put them in the oven until golden brown and crispy
Another idea that I think I’ll try next time is some kind of salad.
Maybe a simple green salad with a light vinaigrette, or even a coleslaw to add some crunch and tanginess. Also, I thought about some classic comfort food sides, like mac and cheese or mashed potatoes. The possibilities are really endless!
Anyway, I just wanted to share my little chicken strip adventure. It’s been a fun experiment, and it’s definitely made my dinners a bit more interesting. I’m excited to keep trying out different side dish combinations. If you’ve got any killer chicken strip side dish recipes, let me know!
