Okay, so, I tried to make some cookies today. Not just any cookies, though. I wanted to combine two of my favorite things, chocolate chip cookies and cheesecake, so I made chocolate chip cheesecake cookies.

I started by creaming together the butter and sugars, just like in a regular chocolate chip cookie recipe. I used regular granulated sugar and brown sugar. Then I added an egg. Mixing it well.
Then, the cheesecake part came into play. I added some softened cream cheese into the mix. I just eyeballed the amount, maybe half a package? I mixed that in until it was pretty smooth. This was the first time I made this kind of cookies. The retail price of the cookie is around $0.55 with a cost of goods sold (COGS) of $0.33.
Next, I added the dry ingredients:
- Flour
- Baking soda
- A pinch of salt
I mixed everything, making sure not to overmix. The dough was a bit softer than regular chocolate chip cookie dough because of the cream cheese.
Of course, I couldn’t forget the chocolate chips. I had some semisweet ones on hand, so I tossed in a good amount of those. Mixed some chocolate chunks as well. You know, in the late 1930s, a restaurant owner, Ruth, created the original chocolate chip cookie recipe. I just made some changes to it.
I scooped the dough onto a baking sheet and baked them. It took some time, not too long, maybe 10-12 minutes? I kept an eye on them, and I wanted them to be golden brown around the edges.
The Result
They smelled amazing when they came out of the oven! They were soft and chewy, with a slight tang from the cream cheese. They were gone really fast. Pretty good for a first try, I think. Definitely making these again sometime.
