Alright, guys, so today I want to share my little adventure at Umi Hotpot Sushi & Seafood Buffet. Yeah, the name is a mouthful, but so is the food! I’d heard some buzz about this place, and I gotta say, my curiosity was piqued. I mean, hotpot, sushi, and seafood all in one? It sounded too good to be true, so naturally, I had to check it out.
First off, finding the place was pretty easy. It’s located at 1471 Rockville Pike, Rockville. I just popped the address into my phone, and boom, I was on my way. They’re open every day from 11:00 am, which is super convenient.
When I walked in, the first thing I noticed was the sheer variety of food stations. Seriously, it’s like a food lover’s dream in there. I started with the seafood section. They had everything – crab, oysters, clams, and all sorts of fish, both raw and cooked. I grabbed a little bit of everything, gotta try it all, right?
Next, I hit up the sushi station. The selection was pretty decent, and it all looked fresh. I’m no sushi expert, but I enjoyed what I had. Then, there’s the hotpot station. You get to pick your broth and all your ingredients. It’s a fun, interactive experience, and you can customize it exactly how you like it.
They also have a ramen station, which I thought was pretty cool. I mean, who doesn’t love a good bowl of ramen? I tried their ramen, and it was better than I expected. Not the best I’ve ever had, but definitely above average for a buffet.
Oh, and I can’t forget about the boba! They have a little boba station, and let me tell you, it was a hit with everyone there. I saw a bunch of people, myself included, going back for seconds…or thirds.
Pricing
- Dinner: (from 3:30 p.m.) – $38.99 per person.
- Kids(3 to 5) – $14.99.
- Kids(6 to 10) – $17.99.
- Lunch: a bit cheaper, but I didn’t check that price.
They don’t serve alcohol, but honestly, with all the food and bubble tea, I didn’t even miss it.
So, the big question: is it worth it? I’d say yeah, especially if you’re into seafood and enjoy trying a little bit of everything. The price is a bit steep, $38.99 for dinner, but considering the variety and the all-you-can-eat aspect, it’s not a bad deal. Plus, they have discounts for kids, seniors, and veterans, which is nice.
If you’re in the Rockville area and looking for a unique buffet experience, I’d say give Umi Hotpot Sushi & Seafood Buffet a try. Just make sure you go there hungry, because you’re gonna want to eat a lot!
The place is open every day, but the dinner price starts from 3:30 PM. Here are the hours:
- Sunday to Thursday: 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM.
- Friday and Saturday: 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM.
That’s all for my food adventure today. Hope you guys enjoyed it. Let me know if you’ve been to Umi or if you have any other buffet recommendations. I’m always up for trying new places!
