Okay, so I’ve been on this kick lately of making desserts ahead of time. You know, for parties, potlucks, or just because I want a sweet treat ready to go in the fridge. That’s where these disposable dessert cups come in – total game changer!
First, I grabbed a bunch of different sized cups online. I wasn’t really sure what I’d need, so I got a mix of small ones for, like, mousse, and bigger ones that could handle a layered dessert.
Getting Started
- Washed all the cups, even though they said they were ready to use. Better safe than sorry, right?
- Dried them thoroughly. Nobody wants a soggy dessert bottom!
Then came the fun part – deciding what to make! I went with a few different things to test out the cups:
- Mini cheesecakes: I made a big batch of no-bake cheesecake filling and spooned it into the smaller cups. Topped some with crushed Oreos, others with fresh berries.
- Layered parfaits: Used the bigger cups for these. I layered yogurt, granola, and different kinds of fruit. So easy and they looked really pretty.
- Chocolate mousse: This was the real test. Mousse can be a bit delicate. I carefully piped the mousse into the medium-sized cups and chilled them for a few hours.
The Results
Everything turned out great! The cups held up perfectly, even with the heavier cheesecakes. No leaks, no collapsing, nothing. The parfaits looked especially nice, all those colorful layers showing through the clear plastic.
And the best part? No dishes! Seriously, after everyone devoured their desserts, I just tossed the cups in the recycling bin. Clean-up was a breeze.
I’m definitely sold on these disposable dessert cups. They make prepping desserts so much easier, and they look pretty darn good too. 10/10, would recommend!
