Okay, so I’ve been seeing these Bobo’s Oat Bites all over the place, and they’re pretty good, but also kinda pricey. So, I thought, “Why not try to make these myself?” And that’s just what I did. It took some time to figure it out. I wanted to share the whole process with y’all.
First, I grabbed all the ingredients I thought I’d need. Lots of oats, obviously. Then some honey, some butter because everything’s better with butter, some brown sugar, and a pinch of salt. I also threw in some vanilla extract because I like that flavor.

Let the games begin
Then I started experimenting. My first batch was a total disaster, way too crumbly. Didn’t stick together at all. I figured I needed more butter and honey to bind it all.
The second time, I melted the butter and honey together on the stove, mixed it up real good with the dry ingredients. It was better but still not quite right. Too sweet. So I cut back on the sugar a bit.
I pressed the mixture into a pan. I used an 8×8 baking dish, lined with parchment paper. You want to press it down real firm. I even used a spatula to get it nice and compact.
Third time’s the charm, right? I baked this batch, I tried 350 degrees for about 20 minutes. And waited until it gets a little brown around the edges. I tweaked the recipe again – less honey, more oats. I also added a little cinnamon, just for kicks.
After a few more tries, and a whole lot of taste testing, I finally nailed it. They tasted just like those Bobo’s Bites, maybe even better! And way cheaper, too. I cut them into little squares, just like the real thing.
It’s not a perfect science, but that’s the fun of it. It took me a few tries to get these oat bites just right. They were a little crumbly at first, then too sweet. But I kept tweaking the recipe, and I think I’ve finally got a winner. It’s all about finding that sweet spot, literally. You can adjust it to your own taste. Try adding different things like nuts or chocolate chips. The possibilities are endless. Now I can make a big batch whenever I want, and I don’t have to spend a fortune at the store.
It’s so rewarding to make something from scratch, you know? And to share it with other people. I’m not a professional baker, just a guy who likes to tinker in the kitchen. But I’m pretty proud of these little oat bites. Give it a shot, and let me know how they turn out!
