Okay, so I’ve been seeing these “single-serving desserts” all over my Pinterest and decided, why not give it a shot? I mean, who doesn’t love a dessert that’s just for them, right? No sharing required!
The Prep Work
First things first, I gathered my ingredients. I decided to go with a classic – a mini chocolate chip cookie in a mug. For this magnificent creation, I needed:
- Butter (like, a tablespoon, melted)
- Granulated sugar (another tablespoon)
- Brown sugar (yup, you guessed it, a tablespoon)
- Vanilla extract (just a splash!)
- One egg yolk (save the white for something else, maybe a healthy omelet tomorrow?)
- All-purpose flour (about 1/4 cup)
- A pinch of salt
- Chocolate chips (as many as your heart desires, obviously)
The Mixing Magic
I grabbed a microwave-safe mug – gotta have the right equipment, you know? I dumped in the melted butter, both sugars, and the vanilla. I gave it a good stir until everything was nice and combined. Then, I cracked in that egg yolk and mixed it all up again.
Next, I added the flour and salt. I stirred until it just came together – don’t overmix it, or your cookie will be tough, and nobody wants a tough cookie. Finally, the best part: I folded in the chocolate chips. I may or may not have “accidentally” added a few extra… for quality control purposes, of course.
The Microwave Miracle
I popped the mug into the microwave and nuked it for about 60 seconds. Every microwave is different, though, so I kept a close eye on it. I wanted it to be cooked but still a little gooey in the center. Because who are we kidding? Gooey is the best.
The Grand Finale
I pulled it out of the microwave, and oh my goodness, it smelled divine! I let it cool for just a minute (because burning your tongue is not fun), and then I dug in. It was warm, chocolatey, and the perfect size for a little sweet treat. Honestly, I might be making these every night now. So easy, so good, and no leftovers to tempt me later!
I highly recommend trying this if you got that sweet tooth. It did take a while but hey I did it, and I got to eat it too!
