Okay, so, I’ve been seeing these Erewhon smoothies all over TikTok and Instagram, and they look so freakin’ good, but also, like, crazy expensive. I figured, why not try to make them myself at home? I’m no chef, but smoothies seem pretty easy, right?
So, I went online to find some copycat recipes. I saw a bunch of articles saying it’s doable, you can make them at home. Then I searched for what exactly I need to make them, and some articles said I just need some basic ingredients. I was like, cool, challenge accepted! I decided to try two that looked the most appealing.
First Try: The Coconut Cloud Smoothie
First, I tried this Coconut Cloud Smoothie. I gathered all the stuff I needed:
- frozen banana
- frozen pineapple
- coconut cream
- almond milk
- blue spirulina(for that crazy color)
- avocado
- vanilla extract
- and some ice
I dumped everything in my blender, pressed the button, and hoped for the best. It took a few tries to get the consistency right—I added a bit more almond milk to thin it out. And let me tell you, the color was spot on! It looked just like the pictures. Taste-wise, it was pretty good! I did it! Super creamy and tropical. I felt like I was in LA with the fancy people. If you want an exact replica, I found you might need some special protein powder like Mikuna Foods Vanilla Superfood Protein. I didn’t get to buy it because it seems only available online, maybe I will buy it later.
Second Attempt: Strawberry Glaze Skin Smoothie
Next up, I tackled the Strawberry Glaze Skin Smoothie. This one seemed a bit fancier. For this, I needed:
- frozen strawberries
- frozen banana
- almond milk
- avocado
- sea moss gel(which was a new one for me)
- collagen powder
- maple syrup
- and some other stuff
The blending process was similar, but this one was a bit trickier because of the sea moss gel. It’s supposed to be super good for you, but it definitely has a unique texture. It took some getting used to. I also read from their website that it has creamy almond milk, organic strawberries, and avocado, enhanced with collagen and sea moss for added benefits. The smoothie turned out pretty tasty, though! A little bit on the sweet side, but I think that’s the maple syrup. And my skin did feel a bit more hydrated afterward, or maybe I was just imagining it.
Overall, making these smoothies at home was a fun experiment. It’s definitely cheaper than buying them from Erewhon all the time. Plus, you can tweak the recipes to your liking. I might try adding some spinach or other greens next time to make them even healthier. If you’re into trying new things and don’t mind a bit of a mess in the kitchen, I’d say give it a shot! You might surprise yourself. I read some articles saying that you could make smoothie bowls, granola, energy bites and so on! I am thinking about making them next week. Will keep you guys posted!
