Alright, so you wanna know about breakfast in Flagstaff, huh? Lemme tell ya, I ain’t no fancy food critic or nothin’, but I know what’s good eatin’. I been around, ya know? Seen a thing or two, ate a thing or two.
First off, folks keep talkin’ ’bout this Toasted Owl Cafe. Says it’s the best, real popular. Well, I went there myself, see? Had me some eggs and bacon. Can’t go wrong with eggs and bacon, right? They was good, real good. Not too greasy, not too dry. Just right. And the coffee, oh boy, that coffee was strong enough to wake the dead. I like my coffee strong, like me! Heh! They got other stuff too, fancy pancakes and such, but I’m a simple gal. Eggs and bacon is all I need.
Then there’s this MartAnne’s Breakfast Palace. Sounds fancy, don’t it? “Palace.” Hmph. But it ain’t all that fancy, just good food. Big portions, that’s what I like. I hate them places where they give ya a little bitty plate with a little bitty piece of food. What’s that gonna do for ya? Nothin’, that’s what. MartAnne’s, they give ya enough to fill ya up good. I had me some biscuits and gravy there. Oh, them biscuits was fluffy, like little clouds. And the gravy, creamy and thick. Made my belly happy, that’s for sure.
Now, some folks swear by Tourist Home Flagstaff Cafe. Says it’s real homey, like eatin’ at your grandma’s house. Well, my grandma wasn’t much of a cook, bless her heart. But this place, it’s alright. They got all the usual stuff, omelets, waffles, that kinda thing. I had me a waffle there. It was big, bigger than my face! And they give ya all sorts of toppings, fruit and whipped cream and such. I just had some butter and syrup though. Like I said, I’m a simple gal.
And then there’s Fort FLG. Don’t know what that means, but the food’s good. They got some fancy stuff there too, but I stuck with the basics. Had me some sausage and potatoes. The sausage was spicy, real spicy, but I like it that way. Gives ya a kick in the pants, wakes ya up. And the potatoes, they was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Just how they should be.
Some folks also talkin’ ’bout Over Easy – Woodlands Village. Sound kinda sleepy like, but food was good. They got all the normal breakfast stuff you’d want. I just sticked to the basics, same as always, had some eggs, and some meat. It filled me up, kept me goin’ all day.
- Madrezcafe Flagstaff: I heard the young folks like this place. They got some kinda Mexican breakfast, I think. I ain’t tried it yet, but I might someday, if I’m feelin’ adventurous.
- The Station Caf: Another one the youngsters like. They got fancy coffee and pastries and such. Not really my thing, but to each their own, I always say.
- Morning Glory Cafe: This one’s supposed to be real pretty, with flowers and stuff. I ain’t been there, but I heard the food’s good. Maybe I’ll go sometime, if I’m feelin’ fancy.
So there ya have it, my take on breakfast in Flagstaff. Ain’t no fancy review, just a plain talkin’ gal tellin’ ya what’s good. You go try them places out for yourself, see what you like. And don’t forget to try the coffee, it’s strong enough to wake the dead! And if you see me there, don’t be shy, come say hello. I’m always up for a good chat, and maybe another cup of that strong coffee.
Remember, no matter where you go, just make sure you get a good breakfast. It’s the most important meal of the day, they say. And I reckon they’re right. A good breakfast will keep ya goin’ all day long, no matter what you’re up to. So go on now, get out there and eat somethin’!
One more thing I almost forgot! If you are lookin’ for reviews, you can always check out that Yelp thing on your phone or computer. The young folks are always usin’ it, so it must be good for somethin’. They post all sorts of pictures and comments. Just don’t trust everything you read on there, ya hear? Some folks just like to complain.
But like I said before, best way to find a good breakfast spot is just go try it out yourself. That’s what I always do. Don’t need no fancy phone or computer telling’ me where to eat.
And that’s all I gotta say about breakfast in Flagstaff. Now you go on and have a good day, and don’t forget to eat your breakfast!
