Well, lemme tell ya, I wanted to find some game dinners near me. Ain’t nothin’ better than a good, hearty meal, you know? Especially when it’s got that wild game taste. My grandpappy used to hunt all the time, and my grandma, bless her soul, she could cook up a storm. So, I got to thinkin’, where can an old gal like me find some good eatin’ these days?
I heard tell there’s this thing called the “internet” now. My grandkids, they’re always on them phones, clickin’ away. They showed me how to use it a little, but Lordy, it’s a confusing mess! Still, I figured I’d give it a whirl. I typed in “game dinners near me,” just like that, plain and simple. And what do you know? A whole bunch of stuff popped up!
First thing I saw was somethin’ about “restaurants near you” and “best restaurants near me”. Well, that’s all well and good, but I ain’t lookin’ for just any old restaurant. I want that good, wild game. Deer, rabbit, maybe some squirrel if they got it. Good for the bones, ya know. This whole thing also said somethin’ about “Middle Eastern”. I don’t know nothin’ about that kind of food.
Then there was another one talkin’ about “restaurants with TVs.” Now, who needs a TV when you’re eatin’? Back in my day, we talked to each other at the dinner table. But I guess times are changin’. This place called “Miller’s Ale House” sounds fancy. Probably too fancy for the likes of me. I just want a good game dinner, not all that hoopla.
And get this, they got places now where they bring the food right to your door! They call it “delivery.” Imagine that! You don’t even have to leave your house. Back when I was a young woman, we walked everywhere. Uphill both ways, in the snow! But I guess this “delivery” thing could be handy sometimes. They say they deliver “breakfast, lunch, dinner and more”. They even say it’s from the “best local restaurants”.
There was somethin’ called “Pick by location” too. It uses your “location” to find a place for you. Said you can pick how far you want to go and how much money you want to spend. Sounds like a good way to find new places, I reckon. Might be worth a try sometime, when I’m feelin’ adventurous. But right now, I’m set on findin’ me some game dinners near me.
- I saw somethin’ about “wild game dinners” and “wild game restaurant”. That’s more like it!
- They said to look online for “wild game dinners near me” or check them “Facebook” pages. My granddaughter’s always on that Facebook.
- They also mentioned “local hunters clubs”. Now that’s an idea! Those hunters know where to find the good stuff. Maybe they got some cookouts or somethin’. I might have to find out about that one.
Another thing popped up called “Yelp”. Sounds like a dog barkin’ if you ask me. But they say you can find all kinds of food on there, even dinner near me that’s open now. And they got somethin’ called “reservations”. Like you gotta call ahead and tell ’em you’re comin’. Fancy folks, I tell ya. There is also a lot of “cuisines”, whatever that means.
They also talked about “removing filters” and “zooming out” on a map. Sounds like somethin’ out of a spy movie. But they say it helps you find “restaurants open near you now” and look at their “menus”. A menu is just a list of what food they got, right? I guess that could be useful, so you don’t waste your time goin’ somewhere that don’t have what you want.
Then there was somethin’ about “Uber Eats”. I think that one of them newfangled taxi services. But they also deliver food, these days. You put in your address, where you live, and they’ll show you places that deliver dinner near me. They even ask, “Who offers Dinner delivery near me?”.
Oh, and I found out how much food costs in South Korea, of all places. Don’t know why that came up, but there it was. $8 to $14 for breakfast, $7 to $23 for lunch and $16 to $36 for dinner. That is a lot of money for some food. I can see prices have gone up, that’s for sure. I remember when a nickel could get you a whole meal.
Anyway, I learned a lot about this here internet. Seems like it can be right helpful if you know how to use it. Still, nothin’ beats a good home-cooked meal, especially if it’s wild game. I’m gonna keep lookin’ for them game dinners near me. Maybe I’ll ask my grandkids to help me out some more. Or maybe I’ll just head down to the local diner and see what they got on the menu. A good, hearty meal is all a body needs sometimes, and that’s the truth.
