Okay, so the other day I made some Hamburger Helper for dinner. You know, that stuff in the box with the pasta and seasoning? I followed the instructions, browned some ground beef, and mixed it all together. It was pretty good, but I felt like it was missing something. It needed some side dishes to make it a complete meal.
I opened the fridge and started looking around. I had some lettuce, tomatoes, and cucumbers. “A salad, maybe?” I thought. That sounded pretty good. I washed all the veggies and chopped them up. Then, I whisked together a simple dressing with some olive oil, vinegar, and a little bit of salt and pepper.

Other Options
It is really easy to make a garden salad. I just tossed everything together in a big bowl, and it was ready to go. I also roasted some potatoes with some of the vegetables. It turned out really delicious. That crisp, fresh salad was just what the Hamburger Helper needed.
I also realized there are tons of other things you can serve with it. Some people like green beans or mac and cheese. I remembered seeing someone online mention something about fresh veggies, so maybe next time I’ll try that. I mean, the possibilities are endless. From mixed-green salad to a hearty helping of potatoes.
Anyway, I just wanted to share my little cooking adventure. It’s not every day you have to figure out what to serve with boxed pasta. But hey, I think I did a pretty good job!
