Okay, so I’ve been seeing these casserole things all over the internet, and this “hamburger hash brown casserole cream mushroom” one caught my eye. I figured, why not give it a shot? I mean, who doesn’t love a good, hearty, cheesy dish?

First things first, I gathered my ingredients. I grabbed some:
- Ground beef (I went with lean, ’cause, you know, trying to be a little healthy)
- Frozen hash browns (the shredded kind, not the patties)
- A can of cream of mushroom soup
- Some shredded cheddar cheese (lots of it!)
- An onion, finely chopped the onion.
- Some milk
- Salt, pepper, and some garlic powder for extra flavor.
Get Cooking
I started by browning the ground beef in a big skillet. I made sure to drain off any extra grease because nobody wants a greasy casserole. Then, I tossed in the chopped onion and cooked it until it was soft and see-through.
Next, I dumped in the cream of mushroom soup, and then I add a little bit milk, and I stirred it all together. Then, a pinch of salt, a dash of pepper, and a sprinkle of garlic powder, Mix them well.
Then came the fun part: layering! I sprayed a casserole dish with some cooking spray (gotta prevent sticking!). Then, I spread a layer of the frozen hash browns on the bottom. After that, I poured the ground beef and mushroom mixture over the hash browns, and make them evenly.
Finally, I covered the whole thing with a generous layer of shredded cheddar cheese. I mean, you can never have too much cheese, right?
Bake and Finish!
I popped the casserole into a preheated oven at 350 degrees.I set a timer for the cooking time around 30-40 minutes, just until everything was bubbly and the cheese was melted and golden * smelled so good in my kitchen at this point.
Once it was done, I took it out of the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before digging in. Believe me, it was worth the wait! All those flavors together, the creamy mushroom, the cheesy goodness.

It was perfect comfort food.
