Alright, guys, let’s talk about these beverage tickets I messed with today. I wanted a simple way to keep track of drink orders at this little get-together I was having, and I thought, “Hey, tickets! Like at a carnival!” So, that’s what I did.
Getting Started
First, I needed something to make the tickets on. I just grabbed some regular paper – nothing fancy. Cardstock would’ve been better, but I was working with what I had. Then, I had to decide how I wanted them to look.
Design Time (Or Lack Thereof)
I’m no artist, so I kept it super basic. I opened up a word processor – you know, Word or Google Docs, whatever works. I just made a simple table. Each cell in the table would be one ticket.
- I typed in “Beverage Ticket” in each cell. Yeah, real original, I know.
- I added a little number at the bottom, just to help me keep track. Started with 1, then 2, 3, and so on.
- I played around with the font a bit. Made it a little bigger, a little bolder. Nothing crazy.
Printing and Cutting
Once I had a full sheet of these things, I printed them out. Now came the fun part – cutting! I just used regular scissors. A paper cutter would’ve been way faster, but, again, I was improvising.
I cut along the lines of the table, making each cell its own little ticket. It took a bit of time, and my hand got a little tired, but I got it done.
The System in Action
At the party, I gave everyone a few tickets when they arrived. When they wanted a drink, they handed over a ticket. It was super simple, and it actually worked pretty well! It helped me keep track of how much people were drinking, and it made sure nobody was sneaking extra refills without me noticing. Clever, huh?
Final Thoughts
Honestly, this was a super simple project. It wasn’t perfect – the tickets were a little flimsy, and cutting them out took a while. But it served its purpose, and it was kind of fun to make something from scratch. If I were to do it again, I’d definitely use thicker paper and maybe try to find a paper cutter. But overall, I’m calling it a win!
