Okay, so I’ve been trying to get a handle on my eating habits lately, especially since my doctor recommended I look into bariatric-friendly options. It’s been… a journey, to say the least. I figured, “Hey, why not try one of those meal delivery services?” Seemed easier than trying to figure everything out myself.
So, I started Googling. I typed in “bariatric meal delivery” and, wow, a bunch of stuff popped up. Lots of different companies, lots of different plans. It was a little overwhelming, honestly.
I spent a good chunk of time just clicking through different websites. I looked at what they offered, you know, the types of meals, how many meals you get, that kind of thing. I also checked out the prices, because, let’s be real, that’s important. Some were definitely pricier than others.
I made a list, a very simple one, in my notepad:
- Company A – Looked okay, a bit expensive.
- Company B – Seemed to have good variety.
- Company C – More affordable, but fewer choices.
After going back and forth, like, a million times, I decided to go with Company B. They had a good mix of meals, and the price wasn’t too bad. They even have protein shake, so I don’t need to find suitable one by myself.
I placed my order online. It was pretty straightforward – I just picked the plan I wanted and entered my info. I got this confirmation email, which was reassuring.
The meals arrived a few days later. They came in this big box, all packed with dry ice to keep them frozen. I unpacked everything and stuck the meals in the freezer. They were all individually packaged, which is super convenient.
Trying the Meals
The first meal I tried was some kind of chicken and vegetable thing. I just popped it in the microwave for a few minutes, and it was ready. It actually wasn’t bad! I mean, it’s not gourmet, but it was definitely edible, and it fit the bariatric guidelines, which is the whole point.
I’ve been eating these meals for about a week now. It’s been pretty easy, I gotta say. No cooking, no grocery shopping, just grab a meal and heat it up. It’s also very easy to calculate calorie intake.
I will get a try on other companies in next month, and hope I can find a cheaper one!
