Woke up this morning and the first thing I thought about was food. Wasn’t feeling the usual routine at home, you know? Needed a change of scenery. Decided, kinda on a whim, to head out towards Livermore for some breakfast.

The drive over wasn’t too bad. Early enough that the traffic hadn’t gone completely crazy yet. Livermore has this different vibe, a bit slower maybe? Parked the car and started walking around the main downtown area. Lots of places were still closed or just opening up. Passed a few spots, peered in the windows. Some looked too fancy, some too empty.
Finding the Spot
Then I saw this one place, looked like a classic diner type. Nothing flashy, but there were people inside, families, some older folks reading the paper. That usually tells you something, right? Figured, let’s give this a shot. Went inside.
It smelled like coffee and bacon, which is always a good sign in my book. Found a booth by the window. The waitress came over pretty quick, poured me some coffee before I even asked properly. That’s service. Looked over the menu – it was pretty much what you’d expect. Eggs, pancakes, omelets, the works. Didn’t need anything complicated.
The Meal Itself
I just went for the basics:
- Scrambled eggs
- Bacon, extra crispy (had to ask specifically)
- Hash browns
- Toast, sourdough
Food came out reasonably fast. Looked alright. The bacon was perfect, actually crispy like I asked. Sometimes they just don’t listen, you know? But they got it right. Eggs were, well, scrambled eggs. Hard to mess those up too badly, and these were fine. The hash browns were okay, could have been a bit more browned for my taste, but not bad. Toast was good, nice thick sourdough.
Sat there for a while, sipping coffee, watching people outside. It was just a regular breakfast, nothing earth-shattering. But it was nice. Simple food, decent coffee, and a different place to just sit and start the day. Sometimes that’s all you need. It wasn’t rushed. Felt like a proper old-school breakfast experience.
Finished up, got another coffee refill. Paid the bill at the counter. Wasn’t expensive, pretty fair price for what I got. Headed back out into the morning. Felt satisfied. Yeah, doing breakfast in Livermore worked out pretty well today. Good, solid start.
