Alright, so today I wanna talk about this place, Reel Seafood Co. in Colonie. I’d heard about it for a while, you know, one of those spots that’s been around forever. More than 35 years, I think. And it was always one of those places I meant to try. You see it, right there on Wolf Road, mixed in with all those chain restaurants. But this one was different, it was independently owned, which I liked.
So, a couple of weeks ago, I finally decided to go. I drove over there, it’s at 195 Wolf Road. I pulled into the parking lot, and the first thing I noticed was they had outdoor seating. It was a nice day, so that was a plus. They also had Wi-Fi, according to the information online. So I made a reservation, walked in, and the place had a good vibe, you know? A classic seafood joint feel. I looked around, it was pretty spacious. It is a American restaurant as I know.
I sat down and checked out the menu. Now, I’m a big seafood fan, so I was pretty excited. I heard their whole thing was about fresh, flavorful seafood. I ordered a few things, figured I’d get a good sampling. I got some of their appetizers and a few of the main dishes.
- The staff was friendly and got my order in pretty quickly.
- While I waited, I people-watched a bit. Seemed like a mix of regulars and first-timers like me.
- The food came out, and it looked great. Everything smelled amazing, too.
I dug in, and honestly, it was pretty good. The flavors were definitely there. Fresh, like they said. I finished everything, paid the bill, and headed out. Overall, a solid experience. It lived up to the hype, for sure. I don’t know why I waited this long to try this place. It’s a shame I heard that they are closed now.
But hey, that’s how it goes sometimes. You finally get around to trying something, and then it’s gone. But I wanted to share my experience anyway. Maybe it’ll remind someone else to check out a place they’ve been meaning to try before it’s too late. You never know, right?
If you ever went to Reel Seafood Co., let me know what you thought. I’m curious to hear other people’s experiences.
That’s it for today. Just a quick little story about a local spot. Catch you all later.
