Okay, so today I tried making a sausage noodle casserole. It turned out pretty good, so I wanna share how I made it.
First, I grabbed a big skillet and crumbled the sausage into it. I like using Italian sausage, but you can use whatever you want. Then, I chopped up an onion and a green pepper and threw them in with the sausage. I cooked everything over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sausage was browned and the veggies were tender. This took about 10-15 minutes. While that was going, I boiled some water in a big pot and cooked the egg noodles according to the package directions.
Once the sausage and veggies were done, I drained off the excess grease. Nobody wants a greasy casserole, right? Then, in a separate Dutch oven, because why not, I mixed together a can of cream of mushroom soup and some water. You could use milk too, but I just went with water this time. After that, I added the cooked sausage and veggies to the soup mixture and gave it a good stir.
- Crumble sausage and cook with onion and green pepper.
- Boil and cook noodles.
- Combine soup and water (or milk).
- Mix everything together.
Next, I drained the cooked noodles and added them to the pot with the sausage and soup. I stirred everything up really well to make sure the noodles were coated with that creamy sauce.
Then, I poured the whole mixture into a greased baking dish. I sprinkled some shredded cheddar cheese on top because, well, cheese makes everything better. Finally, I baked it in a preheated oven at 350 degrees for about 20-25 minutes, until it was all bubbly and the cheese was melted and golden brown.
That’s It
And that’s it! It was a pretty simple recipe, and it turned out to be a really hearty and satisfying meal. The kids loved it too, which is always a win. If you’re looking for a comforting and easy dinner, give this sausage noodle casserole a try. You won’t regret it!
