Alright, listen up, y’all. Let’s talk about them Sea of Conquest recipes, the grub you gotta make to keep your crew happy and your ship sailin’ smooth. This ain’t no fancy restaurant talk, just plain ol’ cookin’ like your grandma used to do, well, maybe a bit different since we’re on a boat and all.
First off, you gotta get yourself some fixin’s. Can’t cook nothin’ without somethin’ to throw in the pot, right? Now, they got this here Salvage Bay, sounds fancy, but it’s just a place where stuff washes up. Good stuff, though, like veggies and whatnot. Keeps pilin’ up, so you don’t gotta go chasin’ after every little onion. It’s like a garden that tends itself, bless its heart.
Then there’s the Cattle Shed. Yep, cows. They give you milk, and milk’s good for all sorts of things. Think of it like this, milk is like the water for cooking in this here sea. You can make creamy soups and whatnot. And them cows, they ain’t just for milkin’, they also give you raw meat. Gotta have meat to keep your belly full and your muscles strong, especially if you’re out there hauling ropes and fightin’ off… well, whatever it is you fight off on the sea. Never seen it myself but I heard them youngins talking about it.
- Raw Meat: From them cows, like I said. Good for stew, roastin’, whatever you got a mind to make.
- Milk: Cows again. For drinkin’, cookin’, makin’ things creamy.
- Sugar Cane: Some folks call it sugar sorghum, tastes sweet all the same. For makin’ desserts or sweetenin’ up your tea, if you got tea. Sugar make everything better.
- Marrowbone: Now, these is real good for flavor, like that secret thing your grandma adds to everything and no one knows what it is. Adds that bone-deep taste to whatever you toss it in.
- Wheat: For bread, of course! Can’t live without bread, it’s the staff of life they say. Gotta have somethin’ to sop up the gravy, you know.
- Pine Nuts: Little crunchy things, good for sprinklin’ on top or addin’ a bit of somethin’ special. Like when you put sprinkles on a cake but better.
Now, about them recipes… ain’t nobody gonna hand ’em to you on a silver platter. You gotta figure some things out on your own. But I can tell you a few things I heard from them sailor boys. They talk a lot, especially after a few mugs of that grog.
They got these trainers, see? But them trainers, they stop teachin’ you after a while. Then you gotta go find these fellas named Derek Odds, if you’re with the Alliance, or Misensi, if you’re with the Horde. Sounds like a bunch of nonsense to me, pickin’ sides and whatnot. But them fellas, they sell you recipes, but you gotta pay ’em with some fancy awards you get for doin’ cookin’ quests. Seems like a lot of trouble just to learn how to make a stew, but that’s the way the world is. Always jumpin’ through hoops.
From what I gather, there’s different recipes for different things. Some for keepin’ your crew healthy, some for makin’ ’em stronger, some just for makin’ ’em happy. A happy crew works harder, that’s what my old man always said, though he never saw a boat bigger than a fishin’ dinghy. You gotta learn what ingredients go with what, and experiment a little. Don’t be afraid to throw stuff in the pot and see what happens. Worst thing you can do is make somethin’ that tastes like shoe leather, and even then, somebody’ll probably eat it if they’re hungry enough.
I also heard tell about different seasons, S1, S2, S3… Sounds like TV shows to me, but they say the recipes change or somethin’. More stuff to learn, I guess. Just keep your ears open, talk to the other cooks, and don’t be afraid to try new things. That’s the secret to good cookin’, anywhere, even on a boat.
So, there you have it. A little bit of this, a little bit of that, and you’ll be cookin’ up a storm in no time. Just remember, keep it simple, use what you got, and don’t burn the food. And if you do burn it, well, just tell ’em it’s “smoked” and charge ’em extra. That’s what my sister use to do back at the diner.
Keep them ingredients stocked. You always got to keep a full pantry to keep cooking. The best way to cook is to have everything on hand. No runnin around last minute trying to find something.
And most importantly, feed them hungry sailors! A full belly makes a happy crew! And a happy crew means smooth sailing!
Remember all this, and you will make fine cook no matter where life takes you.
