Okay, so I’ve been craving some good seafood lately, and I’m planning a trip down to the Texas coast. Rockport keeps popping up as a chill spot with some supposedly awesome restaurants. So, I decided to do some digging and see what’s what. This is how I went about it.

First, I fired up my go-to search engine. I needed a starting point, like, “What are the popular seafood places in Rockport?” You know, just casting a wide net to begin with.
I spent a good chunk of time, just reading through forums and articles. I was looking for patterns. Like, which restaurants’ names kept coming up again and again? Which places got consistently good shout-outs, not just one-off mentions?
Narrowing it Down
After the initial broad search, I started to get a bit more specific. I started to read local blogs from peoples experience.
- Was the place super touristy, or did it seem like a spot locals actually frequent?
- What kind of vibe did the place have? Was I looking for something fancy, or a casual, fish-fry kind of joint?
- What about the price range? Did I want to splurge, or keep things more budget-friendly?
I created a simple note file and started to make a list of the places with opening hours and what they offer.
So, that’s basically my process. It’s not rocket science, but it’s how I usually go about finding good places to eat when I’m traveling. It takes a little time, but it’s usually worth it in the end!
