So I decided to give this Laziza beverage a try a while back. Heard some folks talking about it, figured why not.
Walked into that international foods place over on Baker Street, the one with the weird spices in the window. They had a whole section of drinks I’d never seen before. Spotted the Laziza bottles, different flavors. Grabbed a couple, I think it was the apple and the raspberry one, maybe? Paid the cashier, went home.
Got home, chilled one in the fridge for a bit. Cracked open the apple one first. First sip? Okay, it’s fizzy. And sweet. Really quite sweet, actually. It tasted, well, like apple soda. Nothing too groundbreaking, you know?
Later on, maybe the next day, I tried the raspberry. Same deal. Fizzy, very sweet, tasted strongly of raspberry flavoring. It wasn’t bad, exactly, just… a soft drink. Like something you’d give a kid at a party.
My thoughts on the whole thing
Look, I’ve been trying to find more interesting non-alcoholic options lately. Cutting back a bit, you know? Doctor mentioned watching the sugar too, which is funny because these things were loaded.
- Found them easily enough in that specific store.
- The price was alright, not expensive.
- They definitely tasted like the fruit on the label.
But honestly? It felt like just another sugary soda pop. I was kinda hoping for something different, maybe more complex? I dunno what I expected. It didn’t really stand out from the dozens of other fruit sodas you can get anywhere.
Ended up giving the rest of the bottles away to my neighbor’s kid. He seemed to like them okay. Me? Probably won’t buy them again. Just wasn’t my cup of tea, or, uh, bottle of fizzy stuff. Just another thing tried and noted down in my little book of experiences. Moved on to trying some different imported sparkling waters after that. That’s been more interesting, actually.
