Okay, so this year I decided to take the plunge and try out Reasor’s Thanksgiving Dinner. I’d heard whispers about it, seen the ads, but never actually gone for it. Figured, why not give it a shot and see if it’s worth the hype?
First things first, I hopped online and checked out their website. It was pretty straightforward. They had a few different options – a whole turkey dinner, a ham dinner, and even a prime rib option if you were feeling fancy. I decided to stick with the classic turkey dinner. It seemed like the best bang for my buck and, honestly, that’s what Thanksgiving is all about for me.
The ordering process was super easy. I just picked the size of the dinner based on how many people I needed to feed (went with the medium, good for like 6-8 people), added it to my cart, and scheduled a pick-up time. You gotta order a few days in advance, obviously, so they have time to prep everything. I chose a pick-up slot for the day before Thanksgiving, that way I wouldn’t be scrambling around on the big day itself.
The day before Thanksgiving, I cruised over to Reasor’s during my selected time. There was a special pick-up area set up, so it was quick and painless. Showed them my order confirmation, and they wheeled out a massive box. Seriously, it was heavy! I managed to get it into my car without too much trouble. Definitely recommend having someone with you to help if you can.
Got home, wrestled the box inside, and started unpacking. Everything was packaged really well. The turkey was already cooked and sliced, which was a HUGE win. They included gravy (plenty of it!), mashed potatoes, stuffing, green bean casserole, cranberry sauce, and even rolls. Basically, everything you need for a proper Thanksgiving feast.
Okay, so the moment of truth: the taste test. The turkey was surprisingly moist and flavorful. I was a little worried it would be dry since it was pre-cooked, but it was actually really good. The gravy was rich and savory, perfect for smothering everything in. The mashed potatoes were creamy and smooth, and the stuffing was nicely seasoned. Honestly, I was impressed with the quality of everything.
The green bean casserole was pretty standard, nothing too exciting, but still solid. The cranberry sauce was the canned kind, which I personally love (don’t @ me!), but if you’re looking for homemade, you might be disappointed. The rolls were soft and fluffy, great for soaking up all that leftover gravy.
Reheating was a breeze. Everything came with instructions, and it was mostly just popping things in the oven for a set amount of time. Super convenient, especially when you’re already dealing with the chaos of Thanksgiving.
Overall, I’d say Reasor’s Thanksgiving Dinner was a definite success. It saved me a ton of time and stress, and the food was actually really tasty. Would I do it again? Probably! It’s a great option if you’re short on time, don’t want to cook a huge meal yourself, or just want a hassle-free Thanksgiving. Definitely worth considering for next year!
