Woke up this morning feeling pretty hungry, you know how it is. Didn’t feel like making anything at home, so I decided, why not head out somewhere? Had Meridian on my mind, figured I’d see what I could find for breakfast over there.

Got myself dressed, grabbed my keys, and just started driving towards Meridian. It wasn’t too early, but traffic was light, which was nice. The sun was coming up, looked like it was going to be a decent day. Didn’t have a specific place picked out, just thought I’d cruise around a bit and see what looked good. Sometimes that’s the best way, just winging it.
Finding a Spot and Settling In
Pulled into a little strip mall area, saw a place that looked like a straightforward breakfast joint. Nothing fancy, just looked like a spot where you could get some regular food. Parked the car and walked in. It was pretty standard inside, booths along the walls, some tables in the middle. A few folks were already eating, looked like locals mostly.
Found myself a booth. The waitress came over pretty quick, coffee pot in hand. Gotta have coffee, right? Poured me a cup while I looked over the menu. Wasn’t trying to get anything crazy, just wanted some classic breakfast stuff. Ended up deciding on:
- Scrambled eggs
- Some bacon
- Hash browns
- And toast, of course
Pretty simple order. The waitress jotted it down and headed back to the kitchen.
The Food and Just Being There
Didn’t take too long for the food to come out, which I appreciated. Looked like a solid plate of breakfast. The eggs were scrambled just right, not too dry. Bacon was crispy, the way I like it. Hash browns were decent, got that nice brown crust on ’em. Toast was… well, it was toast, did the job.
Just sat there for a bit, eating my food, drinking my coffee, watching the place fill up a little more. Heard snippets of conversation around me, people just chatting about their day. It felt comfortable, you know? No rush, no fuss. Just a regular morning, eating breakfast out.
The coffee refills kept coming, which is always a plus in my book. Finished up my plate, feeling pretty full and satisfied. It wasn’t gourmet or anything, but it was a good, solid breakfast that hit the spot. Sometimes that’s exactly what you need.

Paid my bill up at the counter, gave the waitress a thank you, and headed back out. Felt good to have gotten out and just had a simple meal somewhere different. Ready to tackle the rest of the day now.
