Okay, so I was deep into my Krastorio 2 run the other day, and man, things were getting bottlenecked. Like, seriously clogged up. Belts just weren’t cutting it for getting materials into assemblers fast enough, especially with the faster machines K2 gives you. I kept thinking, “There’s gotta be loaders, right?” Just like in vanilla Factorio, but maybe better?

So, I started digging through the tech tree. Clicked on logistics, automation, production… scrolled up and down like crazy. Nothing. Nada. Just inserters everywhere. Faster inserters, sure, but still inserters. I even used the search bar, typed in “loader,” “container loader,” stuff like that. Still blank.
I was getting a bit frustrated, thinking maybe K2 just didn’t have them, which seemed weird. It adds so much complexity, why remove loaders? That didn’t feel right.
Finding the Darn Thing
Then I remembered K2 has its own way of doing things, its own research lines mixed in. I slowed down and looked more carefully, specifically at the techs that had the K2 icon or seemed related to advanced logistics stuff.
After maybe 15 minutes of clicking around (felt longer!), I finally spotted it. It wasn’t just called “Loader”. It was hidden behind a tech that I think was named something like “Advanced Logistics Systems” or maybe just “Loaders”? It required some of the later science packs, the ones involving K2’s unique materials. It definitely wasn’t an early-game thing like I initially assumed.
The Recipe Details
Once I researched it, the recipe popped up. It wasn’t too bad, honestly. If I remember right, it needed things like:
- Steel plates
- Iron gear wheels
- Electronic components (the basic K2 ones)
- Maybe some lubricant? Or was that the faster version?
It made sense, needed some structural stuff and a bit of electronics to work. Nothing too exotic compared to some other K2 recipes I’d seen by that point.
Man, what a relief finding that recipe. I immediately set up a small assembly line for them. Slapping those loaders down next to warehouses and train stations? Game changer. Stuff just flows now, exactly how I wanted. No more messing about with six inserters trying to empty a chest onto a blue belt. Loaders are the way to go, even if K2 makes you work a bit harder to unlock them initially.
