Market Basket Turkey Dinners
Well, let me tell you, that Market Basket turkey dinner, it’s somethin’ else. I went down to the Market Basket the other day, you know, the one down the road. They got these turkey dinners, all cooked up and ready to go. It’s right there in the Kitchen place, where they got all them prepared foods. And for a good price, too!
I seen ’em last year, too. My neighbor, she got one. Said it was real good. You get the turkey, all sliced up nice. Not the whole bird, mind you, just the white meat, I reckon. But plenty for one person. And they got that stuffing, you know, the kind with the bread and the herbs.

And mashed potatoes! Can’t have a turkey dinner without mashed potatoes. They put ’em right in there with the turkey and the stuffing. It’s all in one of them plastic containers, the kind you can heat up in the microwave.
Lord knows, sometimes you just don’t feel like cookin’ a whole big meal. Especially when it’s just me now. This Market Basket turkey dinner, it’s just the right size. I don’t gotta worry about no leftovers going bad. And it’s cheap, too. Cheaper than buyin’ all them ingredients and cookin’ it myself, I bet.
They got other stuff at that Market Basket, too. I seen some green beans, and I think some carrots. But I’m tellin’ you, that turkey dinner, that’s where it’s at. I think it was somethin’ like six or seven dollars. Can’t beat that with a stick! You want a good, easy Thanksgiving dinner? This is it.
I heard some folks order them turkey dinners online now. You can get ’em delivered, right to your door. Ain’t that somethin’? Back in my day, we had to walk uphill both ways to get a turkey! But I guess that’s the way of the world now. Everything’s gettin’ easier.

Now, if you want a whole turkey, they got that too. I seen ’em in the meat section. Big ones, small ones, all kinds. They even had some of them frozen ones. Those are cheaper, but you gotta thaw ’em out. Takes a while, you know.
They got everything you need for a big Thanksgiving feast. That cranberry sauce, in a can. Corn, potatoes, all that. Market Basket, they got it all. It’s a good store, that one. Always got what I need.
One time, I was there, and they had these little pies, too. Apple, pumpkin. Just the right size for one person. I got me an apple one. It was mighty tasty.
But that turkey dinner, that’s what I’m talkin’ about. It’s a good deal. And it tastes good, too. I’m gonna get me another one soon. Maybe next week.
I remember one year, I tried to cook a whole turkey myself. What a mess! Took all day. And it was dry as a bone. Never again! Now, I just go to Market Basket and get one of them dinners.
