Okay, let’s talk about my little project today – a breakfast plate. I’ve been trying to eat better in the mornings, you know, to kickstart the day and all that.
So, I woke up this morning and thought, “Let’s make a proper breakfast.” I wasn’t feeling those sugary cereals or quick toast. I wanted something more, something, well, balanced.
First, I scoured the fridge and pantry. I found some eggs, a sad-looking avocado, a few slices of whole-wheat bread, and some cherry tomatoes. “Not bad,” I thought.
I started by boiling some water for the eggs. While that was going on, I sliced up the avocado and seasoned it with a little salt and pepper. Simple, but it does the trick.
Next, I toasted the bread. I like it a bit crispy, so I watched it closely to make sure it didn’t burn. Once the water was boiling, I gently placed the eggs in and set a timer for about 7 minutes – I prefer them medium-boiled.
While the eggs were cooking, I halved the cherry tomatoes and gave them a quick sauté in a pan with a tiny bit of olive oil. Just enough to get them a little soft and bring out the flavor.
When the timer went off, I cooled the eggs under cold water, peeled them, and sliced them up. Then it was just a matter of assembling everything on a plate. It looked pretty good, if I do say so myself!
- Toast: Two slices, golden brown.
- Avocado: Mashed, seasoned, and ready to go.
- Eggs: Medium-boiled, sliced neatly.
- Tomatoes: Sautéed and looking delicious.
The Final Touch
I sprinkled a bit of everything bagel seasoning on top because why not? It adds that extra bit of flavor. And there it was, my breakfast plate. It felt good to put something like this together, and it tasted even better. It definitely kept me full and gave me good energy throughout the morning. I’m thinking of doing this more often. It’s a nice, easy way to have a balanced breakfast without spending too much time or effort.
You can add a cup of orange juice or coffee on your breakfast. I will keep trying!
