Okay, so I’ve been seeing these naan bread appetizers all over my feed, and I finally decided to give them a try. I mean, who doesn’t love naan? And turning it into bite-sized snacks? Genius!

Getting Started
First, I grabbed some store-bought naan. You could totally make your own, but honestly, I was feeling a little lazy. I went with plain, but garlic naan would be amazing too. Then I raided my fridge and pantry for toppings.
The Experimentation Phase
This is where the fun began. I decided to try a few different combinations to see what worked best.
- Combo 1: The Classic Caprese. I spread some pesto on the naan, added a slice of fresh mozzarella, a juicy tomato slice, and a drizzle of balsamic glaze. Simple, but always a winner.
- Combo 2: The Mediterranean Vibe. Hummus was my base here. Then I topped it with crumbled feta cheese, chopped Kalamata olives, and a sprinkle of red pepper flakes for a little kick.
- Combo 3: Sweet and Savory. Okay, hear me out. I spread some ricotta cheese on the naan, layered some sliced figs, and then drizzled honey and a pinch of sea salt. Sounds weird, but trust me, it’s delicious.
- Combo 4: Spicy. I used some butter and some spices for added flavor, layered some sliced green chilies. Sounds hot, It’s delicious.
The Baking (or Not)
For the Caprese and Mediterranean ones, I popped the naan in the oven for a few minutes, just to warm them up and melt the cheese a bit. I used 350°F(175°C) as the tempreture. The sweet and savory one, I left as is, because the ricotta is best served cool, in my opinion. I heated the spicy one using a pan.
The Verdict
Honestly, they were all pretty fantastic. The naan is the perfect little vessel for whatever toppings you’re craving. The Caprese was refreshing, the Mediterranean was flavorful, and the sweet and savory was a delightful surprise. And spicy is always a nice flavor.I will try the spicy ones next time.
I definitely recommend giving this a try. It’s super easy, customizable, and a guaranteed crowd-pleaser. Plus, it’s a great way to use up leftover ingredients.
Next up I want to try, I will try a “pizza” version with marinara sauce.
